Workshops

What happens on a Workshop

AVP workshops are not lectures. Participants learn from one another through in groups, discussions, and role-play, drawing on real-life situations where conflict might happen and exploring different ways to handle them. We run two levels of the course:

Level One

A fun, interactive workshop, where you will learn how to make friends with conflict and communicate better. You will develop the skills you need to: face up to conflict, build better relationship, understand and believe in yourself, respect others, communicate well, and manage strong feelings like anger.

Level Two

A fun, interactive workshop, where you will connect on a deeper level exploring conflict, non-violence, and relationships in more depth while building on the skills developed in a Level One workshop. Usually, participants cooperate to choose the focus of the work in a Level Two workshop.

It is normal to feel a little bit nervous when joining a workshop, especially if you don’t know what to expect! But by the end, participants feel empowered and positive about the new skills they have learned in communication, cooperation, and skillful conflict and anger management.

On the courses you’ll learn how to:

  • Handle strong emotions
  • Understand and believe in yourself
  • Face up to conflict
  • Listen well and speak up for yourself
  • Solve problems
  • Trust and help others

Can’t get enough?

Due to their nature, every workshop is unique. Facilitator teams change from one workshop to the next. Each workshop has different participants. There is no limit to how many times you can participate in Level 1 or Level 2 workshops. You can learn new skills at every workshop, whether you have attended one or many.

Some participants eventually choose to become facilitators, in order to support others wishing to improve their skills. They attend one of our specialist Facilitator Training workshops, which are arranged at various times during the year.

Where are workshops held?

We try to make workshops accessible to everyone. That’s why, for people who are unable to attend our face-to-face workshops in London, we offer online workshops throughout the year. For more information, click on BOOK NOW below.

Workshop fees are charged on a sliding scale between £45 and £155 in accordance with the participant’s income and who’s paying. Please don’t be shy, and reach out if the fee is cause for concern.
